To finish off homecoming week, the Black Affairs Association put on a comedy show staring comedians Benji Brown and guest Dukk.

The Comedy Show was held in the Mini-Dome and started at 9:30 p.m. During the show both comedians brought laughter to the crowd with their acts consisting of clever observations of the world around them.

Guest Comedian Dukk started off the night by having the audience participate in his show by having them finish the lyrics to songs such as the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” theme and “Gonna make me lose my mind.” Dukk also did a roll call of the different fraternities and sororities and then based the rest of his part of the show on the observations he had made about the different fraternities and sororities.

The headliner of the night was comedian Benji Brown. During Brown’s set, he made observations on different aspects of life, from dating stories to scary movies to interactions with the police.

Brown’s impressions were a major part of his act. In one part of the set, he portrayed a man who does voiceovers for scary movie trailers going through his day to day routine with the same voice he uses for the scary movies.

Another part of the act was when Brown portrayed a female walking alongside the road after having to walk home after a date.

“I like the act about the girl on the highway,” ETSU freshman Emily Skidmore said. “He made a bunch of truck noises, and that was funny.”

Combining witty observations of everyday life with hilarious voice overs, Brown created an enjoyable set that left audience members impressed with his acting skills.

“I thought he did really good with the impressions,” ETSU alumn Bob David said. “He’s just like ‘Family Guy.’ He’s got so many impressions. He’s very versatile, and he has a lot of charisma.”
