The Virginia Military Institute made the trip to William B. Greene Jr. Stadium to take on the ETSU football team this weekend. The Bucs started off strong, but ultimately, the Keydets were able to get ahead to win the game, 31-24.

The Bucs had the ball in the final minute of the game, driving down the field for a chance to tie the game up at 31. This drive was heavily aided by a leaping one-handed 30-yard reception by tight end Tim Stayskal (Nolensville, Tenn.). But in the final play of the game, with one second left on the clock, the Bucs were unable to get in the end zone for six.

Junior running back Trey Foster (Knoxville, Tenn.) still boasted an impressive outing for the day, rushing for 172 yards on 28 carries (6.1 avg.) with a touchdown. The former Austin-East Roadrunner also got involved as a pass catcher as the Bucs’ leading receiver, hauling in five receptions for 45 yards.

Freshman running back Torey Lambert (New Orleans, La.) recorded a career-high 90 yards on 7 carries, including a third-quarter 64-yard touchdown run.

On the defensive side of the ball, DB Chris Hope (Madison, Ala.) recorded 11 tackles and a pass breakup. Additionally, Sheldon Arnold II (Loganville, Ga.) recorded 6 tackles, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and an interception.
