Clean off your shelves and gather up your unused books. Why? Because the library needs them!
Donations are now being accepted for the ETSU Library Associates annual book sale, which will be held Oct. 18 and 19 in front of the library.
Books and other media may be dropped off at the book drop located at the rear of the library adjacent to the loading dock. Magazines, such as National Geographic, cassette tapes, CDs and commercial videos are also being accepted.
Members of the ETSU Library Associates, an organization within the University Foundation that supports the collections, programs, and services of Sherrod Library, will sort and price the books and conduct the sale.
“We have books in all genres and subject areas, ranging from children’s books to professional law books,” said Dr. Jean Flanigan, associate director of Sherrod Library and head of the Library Associates.
“We have great bargains from 10 cents and up. Many students buy books for their professional libraries as well as for their personal enjoyment,” Flanigan said.
Many students donate used textbooks and they are often sold for under a dollar.
“It’s an opportunity to find texts for bargain prices,” said Debbie O’Brien, acquisitions librarian.
The sale will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Cash or personal checks will be accepted.
