Trevor Smith leads the Bucs with a 1.72 ERA this season
The ETSU junior right-handed pitcher from Newport, Tenn. has been honored as this week’s TIAA-CREF SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week.
Smith appeared in all four of ETSU’s games this week, allowing no earned runs on two hits while striking out three batters over 3.2 innings of work against Elon and 12th-ranked Tennessee.
This has been a continuing trend for Smith, who has not allowed an earned run in his last six appearances, allowing just five hits and striking out six in that span. For the season, Smith leads the Bucs with a 1.72 ERA.
Smith has posted a 3.77 as a math major. He is a regular member of the dean’ s list, the Southern Conference Honor Roll and the Buccaneer Honor Roll.
