Dear Editor,
I am tired of the constant ignoring of the non-Greek student organizations here on campus! We contribute just as much as the fraternities and sororities here on campus, but no one seems to care since we aren’t Greek.
Sure, Greeks participate in a lot of events here on campus, but a lot of the events on campus are organized by non-Greek organizations.
The ’80s Prom, the Multi-cultural Fashion Show and the Cheap Date events are all organized and sponsored by non-Greek organizations.
And it’s not like Greeks are the only people who participate in events, either. Wasn’t it the Japanese Cultural Society who came second in the Homecoming banner competition? I know for a fact that that group worked just as hard as the Greeks during Homecoming since I am the vice president.
Now before anyone starts getting the wrong idea, I’m not saying that anyone needs more recognition than everyone else. I just think that all organizations need to start be treated equally by everyone on campus.
