Dr. Paul Stanton addressed the SGA with a little good news and some bad news. One positive thing is; the $7 million Governor Bredesen told ETSU to raise has been collected. The Bill Gatton auto dealerships donated more than $1 million to help the cause.
The curriculum in place for the school of pharmacy will allow ETSU students to graduate a year ahead of students enrolled in other pharmacy schools across the state.
Rumors have been circulating about the Memorial Center being demolished. Stanton put an end to the rumors when he told the student representatives, “We did an assessment of all the things that go on in that facility and didn’t realize how much (the Mini-Dome) is being used.”
The Memorial Center was host to various athletic competitions, including the Atlantic Sun Men’s Basketball Tournament this year.
There are a host of classes and offices in the facility that continue to serve a vital function. Stanton said the Mini-Dome should be safe for at least six years.
