Dear Editor:
I just wanted to comment on the article, “Dubya gets whacked on celluloid,” a film that depicts the death of our country’s president and fuels the hatred that many people have for him.
I don’t understand how that can be viewed in a positive light. It has nothing to do with free speech, but it has everything to do with the nature of ourselves. Do we want to live in a society that incites hatred towards anyone?
Americans have the right to see any film they like, but why do we want to encourage a fantasy about the
death of anybody?
Is there any good that can result from such a fantasy? I think not. As a society, we should dwell not on hatred, but on steadfast love.
