The East Tennessee State University Department of Music will host a Summer Piano Camp from July 9-13.
This day camp for students in grades 6-12 who have studied piano for at least two years will include three 30-minute private lessons, an introduction to the harpsichord, a master class in piano and harpsichord, ear training and sight-singing, piano ensemble and improvisation, percussion ensemble, supervised practice sessions and chorus.
Classes, taught by full-time and adjunct piano faculty in the ETSU Department of Music, will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day in Mathes Hall. Performances, including two student recitals and a faculty recital, will be held that Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 5:15-6 p.m.
The deadline for application is May 21, and the registration fee is $230.
