Dear Editor,
I would like to start off by making two points. The first point, I think that the Heath Ledger article that ran last week was a very well written article. While reading, I thought of how insightful it was to hear the situation from someone who had actually met Heath Ledger.
Also, I did not see any instance of Ms. Young “lifting herself up” or trying to “get attention.” I thought that the story explained her situation very well, and was fully necessary to the overall quality of the piece.
The second point, when I read the “Response to Ledger.” After reading the Heath Ledger article I, much like Danna Buwalda, was astounded.
How on earth someone could be so rude toward a well-written article is beyond me.
I am still trying to understand the point of Ms. Buwalda’s response. If she was writing to respond to “ridiculous content,” where were the examples? If the article was so bad, shouldn’t you be able to quote more than one sentence? In the case of Ms. Buwalda, jealousy should have been checked at the blank page.
On a final note, personally, I would like a celebrity gossip column in the East Tennessean. Not to hear about what the celebrities are doing every week, but to get more ridiculous responses for me to read.
