The event will offer two keynote speakers and two concurrent sessions. The sessions will address interdisciplinary problem-solving, case studies, pediatric brain injury, adult brain injury, challenges in everyday living, and emotional and behavioral issues.
The keynote speakers are Cynthia Zmroczek, speech-language pathologist from the Center for Comprehensive Services in Gallatin, Tenn., and Dr. Robert Hughes, neuropsychologist at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Collaborative and rehabilitative aspects will be addressed by a panel including Diane Dunkin, physical therapist; Pam White, physical therapist; Jason Filson, occupational therapist; David White, occupational therapist; Bette Lucas, speech-language pathologist; Carolee Ferguson Hughes, speech-language pathologist; Tracie Hall, case manager; and Lisa Osborne, physical therapy aide. Those attending the conference may meet informally with community and national representatives of TBI facilities and organizations during breaks.
They may also earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs), or American Speech-Language-Hearing Association CEUs.
The fee for attending the conference will be $75 for those who register before March 3 and $125 thereafter. Students may present their college identification and pay $25.
