Dr. Grethe Kragh-Müller, a specialist in child psychology and an associate professor in developmental psychology at the Danish University of Education in Copenhagen, will address “Investigating Cultural Influences on Young Children’s Everyday Lives in Denmark” on April 16, at noon in room 125 of he Millennium Centre.
Kragh-Müller will discuss the ways Denmark, like other countries, has gone through considerable changes from an industrial to an informational society. These changes have significantly affected family life, child care, and children’s lives. She will talk about new ways of relating to children to help them develop competencies needed in post-modern society.
A visiting scholar with the Center of Excellence in Early Childhood Learning and Development in East Tennessee State University’s Claudius G. Clemmer College of Education, Kragh-Müller works with children exhibiting problem behaviors and studies children’s perspectives on their lives. She is the author of five books on children’s development.
