Once again, ETSU is welcoming its largest freshman class in the history of the university. With this achievement, ETSU continues to strive for excellence in facilities, student engagement and financial support.
Heather Levesque, associate vice president and executive director of Undergraduate Admissions, said the university is excited about this year’s incoming class.
“We are excited to welcome an impressive first-year class this fall. At 2,288, it is the largest freshman class in ETSU history,” Levesque said. “The numbers we are celebrating this year also reflect a record-breaking first-year retention rate. Together, these milestones demonstrate that students are not only choosing ETSU, but they are finding the support, opportunities and sense of belonging that encourage them to continue their educational journey here.”
ETSU’s total enrollment this fall is 14,506 students, up 118 from last fall. Additionally, ETSU’s first-year retention rate rose to 78.4%, the highest on record for the university. ETSU has also added new facilities, including a new academic building that opened this semester for students. Additionally, the university has prioritized students’ financial stability both throughout their time attending ETSU and beyond, with more than half of all students who attend ETSU graduating debt-free.
“At a time when students and families are carefully considering the value of higher education, more first-year students than ever are choosing ETSU,” said ETSU President Brian Noland. “Our strong enrollment and this historic freshman class reflect the trust students and families place in ETSU to provide an exceptional academic experience and an accessible, affordable educational pathway that supports students along their journey to a college degree.”
Applications for the 2027 incoming class are now available for new students to apply to attend ETSU next fall.
