Dear Editor,
I live in a residence hall here on campus.
This morning I had the distinct displeasure of being disturbed by an early morning fire alarm.
As I ran outside in my robe, bleary eyed and cold, I couldn’t help but wonder who felt the need to cook bacon at 7 a.m. on a Tuesday morning.
To all the residents of the dorms, I am curious as to why anyone would want to cook anything on stoves that are notoriously ill-functioning, let alone do it at 7 a.m.
Please be courteous of your fellow dorm inhabitants.
Should you feel the need to cook something, wait until 11 a.m. on a Saturday morning, not before your 8:15 biology class or when you get back from the club in the wee hours of the morning.
Ask yourself, “Do I really need bacon that badly? Is it worth waking and enraging an entire building full of people?”
Be sensible, people.
If the stove starts to smoke, turn it off. If your food is burning, remove it from the heat.
I value my rest, so please think before you cook.
