ETSU’s Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) has been named the A-Sun Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 1.This marks the second time this season that Ashton has received this award.
Ashton, a 5-foot-6 midfielder, helped guide ETSU to a 2-0 weekend against conference opponents Mercer and Stetson by nailing down three goals and three assists.The Buccaneers are currently 5-6-0, 2-2-0 in the A-Sun.
A senior honors student majoring in biology and pre-med, Ashton leads the Buccaneers in goals (8) and assists (6) on the season. She also leads the A-Sun conference in goals scored and in points.
Ashton also holds the ETSU individual career record for goals (24) and assists (16).
The Buccaneers are on the road this week against Lipscomb on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. and Belmont on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2:30 p.m. before returning to Johnson City for a four-game home stand.
