Q: What will you do to help ensure the success of football if the referendum is passed?Mehta: If the referendum is passed, I will advocate for what students’ truly want, such as a stadium on campus, a championship caliber team, a true tailgating experience, and an event that is enjoyable for ALL students.
Schultz: I want to continue to listen to what the students have to say. If issues come up about not understanding what is happening with football – I want students to understand what is going on. I want to work one-on-one with our administration and our community, doing everything that is needed to bring back football if that is what the students want.
Shearin: It is very important to who gets elected president of the SGA that they have some experience with the TBR. You want someone who has worked with the students over the last year, as well someone who served on the President’s Committee. You want someone who understands what avenues need to be explored at the Tennessee Board of Regents if the measure passes. If the referendum passes then I would put all my strategies into getting the point across to TBR about what all has gone into this endeavor. I will take what happens in the election as a mandate. If you want football, I’ll make it work. It’s that simple. I have the knowledge and know-how on how to make it work if students are willing to go for it.
