Dear Editor,
My concerns are how Hollywood tries to emphasize historical stories but leaves out important details and facts and uses false knowledge in these present day movies. The audience walks away from one of these high dollar pictures thinking they learned a lot about history when almost half of the movie was incorrect, false and stretching the truth.
For instance, the new movie “300” demonstrated a lot on this topic. Yes, parts of it were accurate, but even more were false and over exaggerated.
I think for a top-selling movie to be produced, it should hold a lot more facts about the actual historic event, rather than making the movie sell.
People are getting false information and facts about these films and losing the entire concept of what really occurred in our history.
Although, these movies are entertaining and somewhat truthful, I believe these films should be more like documentaries and accurate with the information it is providing.
Hollywood has enough money as it is; why not make films that are educational and truthful with our past and history? Thank you for your time.
