The interior ramp in the building reopened this week for normal use.
The ramp may be shut down again a couple of times in the coming weeks and months, but for the next few weeks it will be open and available for use.
The public passenger elevator was shut down this past Tuesday to be overhauled. The work should take about two to three weeks. As long as the elevator is undergoing work, the interior ramp will be available.
Fencing inside the building is being used to clearly define spaces under construction, and to keep students, faculty and staff from entering those areas.
There are also plans to install shelving in the newly renovated restrooms that will match the new stalls. Due to differences in each restroom, the shelves will have to be custom made.?
Handrails are being installed on the Cave patio. This will allow partial use of the upper Cave patio, except for the area where the fireplace will be). It also will allow for full use of the stairwell at the back of the lower patio.?Having complete access to this stairwell will ease the congestion in the building the next time the interior ramp is closed.
