A new type of music has hit the charts across the states.
Punk music, a popular style of music during the early ’80s, has hit the scene once again.
Punk music, a combination of loud kids and happy lyrics about lost loves, has occupied a top spot in this MTV world.
From New Found Glory to MXPX, punk has reached radios all around the nation and people of all ages.
In the ’80s, The Clash was the hit punk band next to The Ramones.
Band junkies, people who followed their favorite bands on tour, were more-or-less older individuals.
The music was also a more harsh sound with in-depth lyrics that truly made sense.
The popular punk style of today is a more pleasurable joining of upbeat sounds, lyrics that don’t make much sense and a younger, more enthusiastic crowd.
I thoroughly enjoy bands like Simple Plan, The Starting Line and Blink 182 who have come a long way since practicing in their garages.
Punk is not just an American thing either.
The band Simple Plan originates from Canada. This all-male band speaks French among themselves but around audiences chooses to speak English.
Their hit song “I’ll do anything” is a good example of the punk scene of today – I’ll do anything to get noticed.
Not only has the music returned, but the clothing as well.
The clothing style is a great expression of punk attitude including studded belts, colored or dyed hair, sweat bands and plaid pants.
These aspects have always been a recognized part of the punk scene and are now a popular style of the time.
A less recognized part of the punk market during the ’80s was piercings.
In the last couple years, piercings have become an essential part of the punk scene.
From lip to eyebrow there is nothing you can’t get pierced. As long as there’s skin, you can get it pierced.
Punk music has returned to the audiences and market without any problems or feuds.
The punk scene has been more-or-less accepted by a wider audience than it has in past years and can be seen on television and in stores.
For once what the kids like is accepted by the world and punk is becoming the top music choice on radio and across the MTV audiences.
