East Tennessee State University’s esports Rocket League team was invited out Thursday by JC Parks for a special night of fun with the community. The night was hosted at the Memorial Parks Community Center and was open to all players ages 12 and up, costing $10 per player.

The function entailed lots of fun from not only the community but the entire Rocket League team. All of the participants were offered the option to bring their own equipment to play Rocket League or to play with the equipment provided.

Throughout the night, folks from the community would have their name drawn from a hat to select Rocket League teams for some competitive fun within the community. Plenty of food and refreshments were provided throughout the night to all participants to keep the energy fun and high.

The event lasted from 5-7:30 p.m., giving everyone that came to the event a great opportunity to enjoy themselves. The community of Johnson City had a blast with this event!

The East Tennessee State esports Rocket League team was very thankful to be invited to participate in an event like this. All members of the esports team were very happy to spend time with the close knit community of Johnson City.

The event was a success, getting the chance to know the community better and being able to just sit back and relax with some good old fashioned competitive fun. In the future, the esports team of ETSU is looking forward for a chance to participate in similar events like this with the community. Not only with their Rocket League team, but with all of their teams such as the Overwatch, Valorant,  and Super Smash Bros Ultimate teams.
