The annual Continental Cornhole Tournament took place Tuesday in the University Commons.

Named after the American Homecoming Theme, the Continental Cornhole Tournament had three brackets being played at once. Homecoming brackets for both Fraternity and Sorority Life and non-FSL members, and an open bracket for any student wanting to compete. The homecoming brackets are played for Homecoming points, while the open bracket is played for an Intramural Championship shirt.

Trey Potter, assistant director of Sport Programs, said, “This is always a fun event and a great opportunity for students to come support and spend time with their peers.”

The Homecoming Cornhole Tournament has been an annual event for several years. The tournament was a collaboration between the homecoming planning team, Student Activities and Organizations, and Campus Recreation.

“This event is a unique Intramural opportunity due to the Homecoming connection, the location of the event and just the overall atmosphere. Cornhole is a very welcoming and enjoyable sport for anyone, and this event creates an environment where students can come and go, but they also have a great time connecting with their friends,” Potter said.

While this was the last intramural cornhole offering this semester, “Big American Classic Volleyball” will be happening on Friday, October 30, at the CPA.

For all Intramural programming, teams can register at imleagues.com/etsu.

There is also walk-up registration for any student interested in participating. Registration is always free.
