Dear Editor,
I think the USA Today Collegiate Readership Program is a wonderful idea.
Granted, not all students will choose to reap the benefits. I don’t know if providing USA Today will get more students reading but I do think it will provide a new source of worldly information to those who are already reading campus-issued material.
The price is steep considering the budget crunch ETSu is in. Topics like this irritate me because my decision to support this program is dependent on money, as are most decisions.
However, as a student and a resident of Tennessee it is sad to see the implementing of this hinged on a budget problem.
In the last year it has been proven that they are stunting the growth of students by taking away funds that could support programs like this one.
