The ETSU women’s golf team finished 10th in the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina University from the par-72, 6,093-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course in Greenville, N.C.
ETSU improved their first-round score by three strokes (318-315–633) to finish 54 strokes behind team champion East Carolina (287-292–579). The Pirates ran away with the tournament, winning by 23 strokes over second place UNC Wilmington (301-301–602).
For the second consecutive day, the Bucs were led by junior Kristen Fletcher. She fired a second-round 78, to finish in a tie for 22nd at 7-over-par (75-78–153).
Leah Hart of Augusta Stete won medallist honors, finishing the tournament at 1-under-par (72-72–143).
Freshman Kailey Brooks had ETSU’s best round of the day, carding a 74 in today’s play. Brooks improved her first-round score by 10 strokes and finished in a tie for 36th (84-74–158) at 14-over-par.
Sophomore Alysa Few shot a second-round 82 to finish in a tie for 48th at 18-over-par (80-82–162). Freshman Laura Diaz was the next Buccaneer finisher, tying for 55th at 22-over-par after firing a final-round 87 (79-87–166).
Sophomore Robin McCarley of Johnson City rounded out ETSU’s tournament, finishing in a tie for 57th (86-81–167) at 23-over-par after shooting a final-round 81.
ETSU’s next tournament will be the Hatter Spring Fling, hosted by Stetson University, March 24-25 in DeLand, Fla.
