ETSU will host a special awards program on Thursday, April 10, being billed as “The Summit: A Celebration of Distinguished Student Leaders and Programs.”
The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in The Centre at Millennium Park.
“The Summit” will recognize campus organization presidents, community service efforts, Greek Life and outstanding student leaders at ETSU.
This is the first year that all such campus leaders will be presented and honored at one major function rather than at individual ceremonies.
The university recognizes the academic accomplishments of students each spring during the Academic Honors Convocation. The Summit is a way to acknowledge the significant contributions that student leaders make to the university through their involvement with student organizations and groups.
The speaker chosen to address this inaugural recognition event is Jeff Anderson, associate vice president for university advancement and planned giving.
The sponsors for the university’s first annual student awards event are ArtCarved, Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, the Office of Student Affairs, Greek Life, Volunteer ETSU and the Center for Student Life and Leadership.
Reservations are required for the free event. Call Student Life and Leadership at 439-5675 for reservations, more information or to make special arrangements for those with disabilities.
