Dear Editor,
A bell tower. As an Austin, Tex., native, shivers ran down my spine as I perused the East Tennessean.
Why do we need a bell tower? To ensure that someone’s pork barrel pipedream can become a sordid reality, I’m sure.
Seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars is a lot of money. I find it amusing that several ETSU faculty searches have been canceled, but to replace those professors, we can now have Sir Mix-A-Lot set to bell music.
Speaking of campus politics, so many people went to the Everclear concert that student fees will soon be raised to provide an even greater selection of unattended concerts.
This place is like a train wreck – you don’t want to watch, yet you cannot force yourself to turn away. Until the student body wakes up and becomes more activist, things will remain as they are.
Power to the People!
