The Atlantic Sun Conference announced on Monday that East Tennessee State University senior Meghan Morris (Bowie, Md.) has been named the A-Sun Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 6- Sept. 11.
It marks the second week in a row that an ETSU soccer player has been honored with an Atlantic Sun Conference award after teammate Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) won the award last week.
Morris, a 5-foot-5 defender, scored two goals for the Lady Bucs last week in games against Radford and Jacksonville State.
With seven seconds to go in regulation, Morris hit the game-tying goal against JSU sending the teams into overtime on Sunday.
Her three goals on the season tie her with Emily Fulcher (New Bern, N.C.) for the team lead. ETSU currently has a 2-3-0 record.
The ETSU women’s soccer team will be on the road this week with stops at Mount St. Mary’s on Friday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. and George Mason on Sunday, Sept 18 at 1 p.m.
