Dear Editor,
I am so tired of hearing students complaining about the upcoming Ludacris concert for Homecoming. I just cannot understand why this is causing such a commotion for a couple of reasons.
First of all, students had the opportunity to voice their opinions on who they wanted for Homecoming. Using the excuse that we did not get an e-mail or it was after the semester was over, is really not valid.
After last years not so popular Everclear concert, you would think these same students would take some initiative and contact student affairs themselves, instead of waiting for an e-mail. We are supposedly grown ups here who do not need anyone to lead us by the hand to get something done.
Secondly, whatever happened to not doing something you do not like? I mean, this is America, if you do agree with something you do have to go through with it.
Hello people – don’t go if you don’t want to!
Personally, I think the choice of music is just fine.
I’m not a die-hard fan of Ludacris or hip-hop, but I think we need to appeal to those who do.
We had a rock concert last year and are country/bluegrass by region. So this will be a refreshing sound for many on campus.
On a final note, this goes out to those of you who feel Homecoming just isn’t the same anymore. Maybe if everyone would have taken the same energy and time they have to complain about a mere concert on campus to flood certain offices with letters to save football, we would have a more Homecoming feel on campus. But I’m sure Ludacris deserves more of our attention. Jacob Job
