Why not break the monotony and go to the Comedy Zone.
Located on 101 West Springbrook Drive in Johnson City is the Comedy Zone at the Holiday Inn. The Comedy Zone provides a laughable atmosphere for those who are on dates or hanging out with close friends.
The Comedy Zone supplies laughter for a diverse group of individuals. When you enter the bar, you will notice that college-age people are present as well as older adults. Various groups of people go to be entertained.
The age requirement to enter the bar and enjoy the festivities is 21 years of age. There is a person at the door checking driver’s licenses before allowing admittance to any and all patrons.
The Comedy Zone is in a bar setting. Every seat is a good seat in that your view is not obscured and the comedian is within a short walking distance. For you smokers out there, smoking is allowed in the bar area and allowed during the show. If you do not prefer smoking, you need to pick your seat wisely before staking claim to your table.
Food and drink can be ordered before and during the show. The full dinner menu is served during the 8 p.m. show and fried appetizers are available from 10:15 p.m. till 11 p.m. Naturally, alcoholic beverages are served throughout the night. Specials are available as well. Beer buckets are available and certain drinks are featured which means they do not cost as much. Certain specials on food are available. However, specials may vary from weekend to weekend.
How much will it cost me? The cover charge is $8 per person. If you and your date go, that is only $16 unless you eat dinner or drink some alcohol.
The Comedy Zone has a wide range of comics who perform there weekly. Recent headliners have included The Tennessee Tramp, Jef Brannan, Frankie Paul and Just June.
Recent featuring acts have included Brian Archer, Jerry Rogers and Jack Wilhite.
Different comedic styles are represented at the Comedy Zone. Some comics are young and others are old. Some have a direct in-your-face approach while others amuse in a more subtle intellectual fashion. Needless to say, if you have a comedic style preference, it will be at the Comedy Zone sooner or later.
The Comedy Zone is not for the easily offended crowd. Comedians will use foul language at times, and a combination of subject material such as drugs, sex, relationships and politics that is not acceptable in our everyday lives. So, when you go to the Comedy Zone, lay all your personal, convictions and opinions outside. The Comedy Zone is not a debate forum. Sit back, relax and prepare to laugh.

I hear students all the time say that there is nothing to do. Here is something to do that is unique. It is only a few miles away from ETSU campus. Get on Roan Street like your going toward the motor mile or Boones Creek. At the red light before you pass The Peerless Restaurant take a left and you are on Springbrook Drive. Holiday Inn is on your left.
