It has been almost a week since last the Campus Rec’s Super Weekend Invitational tournament began and there is still no winner. That is because snowy weather hit the region yet again causing actual tournament play to be postponed until Friday.
“We were able to get in all of our pool games on Friday and Saturday,” said tournament director Adam Knobloch. “After that, the decision was made to postpone play-off games until next weekend.”
Getting to play football in the snow was actually a bonus for some participants.
“We had a lot of fun today,” said Jonathan Odom, captain of the J.C. Brawler’s team. “I was glad that they didn’t cancel us today. We may not have the chance to do this again.”
After the snow settled on Saturday, six teams had qualified for the play-off bracket.
The Franchise and J.C. Brawlers will get the tournament going again on Friday with Sig Ep and the Savages to follow.
Dem Boys and the DuckSquad earned first round byes and will await the winners of the first-round games.
The championship game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
