Dear Editor,
The inequality gap grows between the rich and the middle class, as 2 million more Americans join the ranks of the 43 million living in “poverty” in the richest country in the world. While the gap grows larger for the rich, it is quickly disappearing for the middle class in America.
As a registered voter, veteran of the USAF, and senior at ETSU, I have seen in the last five years my tuition increase 50 percent and I have seen the republicans cut financial aid for the “poor” and saw my aid disappear. Thank God I’m graduating in May ’07.
I don’t know what other students who come behind me will do, as the money is no longer there, thanks to the Republicans who have taken it, and given it to the oil companies.
In conclusion folks, the Bush Administration gave $15 billion in government subsidies to the oil companies, on top of the record profits they were already taking in, financial aid needs to be restored immediately or America will only become less educated so the rich can get it all that way!
Vote folks, let your voices, be heard, and speak up and speak out against “INJUSTICE” wherever you see it, one day you won’t be able to!
