On Friday Sept. 25 at 8:30p.m., the ETSU sky will come alive with a world-class drone lightshow in honor of America 250.
“We have been working on the creative for it, and it’s going to be spectacular,” Joy Fulkerson, America 250 at ETSU Committee Chair.
The lightshow will serve as the grand finale of an even larger event beginning at 5:30 p.m., Bucs Under the Stars. There will be music and games, as well as food trucks available for attendees wishing to purchase food.
The event will take place during ETSU Family Weekend, and students, families, faculty, staff and community members are all encouraged to attend.
“We would really invite people all across the Appalachian Highlands to come out and enjoy the show,” Fulkerson said.
America 250 at ETSU will be hosting more events throughout the rest of the year. The committee, charged by ETSU President Dr. Noland, seeks to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“We really encourage students and family, staff members and the public to stay tuned to the website and really look forward to engaging in not only our past and how we’ve gotten to 250, but really, also, I’m looking forward to opportunities to engage with students around what they might want the next 250 to be,” Fulkerson said.
